Deactivating colors settings through Group Policy method

In case you have a pro version of Windows 10, the most preferred method to deactivate color modification settings is applying the “Local Group Policy Editor.”
Follow these steps to prevent the secondary user from modifying the Window color:
  • First of all, launch the “Start” button.
  • Look for the  “gpedit.msc” and then hit “OK” to expand the policy editor window.
  • Now go to User Configuration. Click on Administrative Templates and select the Control panel. At last, move to Personalization.
  • Navigate towards the right panel on color changing and appearance options.
  • Then deactivate the color management for the user.
  • Now tap on the “Apply” option.
  • Then press the “OK” button.
When the process completes, no other user can modify your Windows color. In case you wish to modify or change your Windows 10 desktop color, you have to change it by these similar steps but on step no 5, you have to choose the “Not configured” button.

Deactivating colors settings by Registry method

  • Then tap the right mouse button on the “System” tab and then press the “New” button. Now hit on the DWORD (32-bit) value.
  • Then provide a name to the tab as “NoDispAppearancepage.”Then hit the enter button.
  • Now tap double on freshly generated DWORD. Then arrange the section from 0 to 1 to prevent the modification of window appearance.
  • Tap on the “OK” button.
  • Then click your right mouse button on the “Policies” option and hit on the “New” tab. Then press on the “key” option.
  • Here provide a name for your key “System.” Then hit the enter key to proceed further.
  • Click your right mouse button on the freshly generated key. Then choose the “New” option and then hit the DWORD (32-bit) value.
  • Now you have to provide a name to the button as “NoDispAppearancePage” then tap the Enter key.
  • Then click your mouse button twice on freshly generated DWORD. Now arrange its sequence from 0 to 1 to deactivate its color scheme.
  • Finally hit the “OK” button to finish the process.
Once you complete all these steps, the other user will be unable to change the color of your desktop that you regularly use.
